Job Description:
This position requires researching, designing, and developing electronic and electrical solutions by performing the following duties:
  • Works under occasional supervision to develop practical solutions to a wide range of moderate to difficult problems, making general and full use and application of electrical and electronic design, and development principles.
  • Analyzes requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Consults with software and/or mechanical engineers to evaluate interface between electronic and mechanical hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • May independently determine approach to problems.
  • Adapts designs or previously developed solutions to new problems, using know-how gained from increasing experience.
  • Supports installation and monitoring of field systems.
  • Participates in and leads group brainstorming sessions, design and technical reviews.
  • Participates in technical product development meetings with other technical disciplines.
  • Interfaces with other technical disciplines to provide solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary problems.
  • Responsible for schedules and budgets for specific tasks.
  • May serve as project technical leader for new designs or product improvements.
  • May lead multi-disciplinary teams to accomplish multi-faceted designs.
  • Participates in, or may lead, technical product development meetings.
  • Participates in new product introduction teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
BSEE degree or equivalentfrom a four-year college or university in a technical discipline, plus three years of relevant work experience.  A Masters' degree, or PhD, may substitute for one year of experience, providing the advanced degree is in a technical discipline.  Relevant experience includes: general electrical and/or electronic hardware design and testing. Image and/or signal processing, and machine vision are a plus. Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
