Key Technology Launches eCommerce Sales Channel

November 5, 2008 – Key Technology announces the launch of its eCommerce website, designed to simplify the purchase process for select standard, off-the-shelf products.  The new eCommerce sales channel, found at http://key.thomasnet.com/category, is ideal for customers not needing the support of Key’s field sales team to assist in the selection of certain standard products.  Customers buying products through Key’s new eCommerce site receive a discount off the list price and are guaranteed products will ship within two weeks of order confirmation, thus benefiting from reduced capital costs and speedy delivery.

Key currently offers its AVSealer Packaging Machine, Sliver Sizer Remover, and three standard variations of Iso-Flo® utility shakers through its new eCommerce channel.  The online catalog offers product specifications, features and downloadable CAD drawings, which allow customers to import product drawings into line layouts.  Key expects to add other standardized products in the future.

“Key developed this new online sales channel to give customers another convenient way to purchase products,” noted John Boutsikaris, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Key Technology.  “Customers can make their purchases anytime and anywhere they have an Internet connection.  We’re passing our lower cost of selling on to the customer by offering a discount off the purchase price.  And shipping, which is typically 8-10 weeks through the traditional sales channel, is reduced to 2 weeks for purchases on the eCommerce site.”

Key’s new online sales channel is available to customers in the U.S. and Canada.  Purchases can be made via credit card or purchase order.

The following products are currently available on Key’s new eCommerce site:

  • The AVSealer is a semi-automatic packaging machine that heat seals a variety of bag sizes with or without a vacuum and has an optional gas flush cycle to satisfy the demands of a wide range of fresh-cut and other food and non-food applications on one system.

  • The Sliver Sizer Remover can be used to remove slivers, fines, and chips; precision sizing and grading; de-juicing and deseeding; and removing debris for a variety of fruits and vegetables.  The SSR available online is the 24” wide model.
  • Iso-Flo® vibratory conveyors are ideal for dewatering, inspection, fines removal, transfer, feed and conveying in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, tobacco, recycled plastics and paper, and other industries.  The stainless steel Iso-Flo shakers currently for sale online include three models: one 36” wide and 72” long with screens, and two 24” wide and 72” long – one with screens and one with a solid conveying pan.
